David Kerr
From Hayase
With a brief exception of 18 months living in Sydney, David has lived most of his life in Wollongong. During a year off working after burn out from 12 years in the IT industry and a cancer diagnosis, David tried his hand at comics to help him relax. His first comic, "Worlds Away", was created at this time. It ran for 18 months online as a webcomic, and finally was printed as a 170 page graphic novel.
Worlds Away attracted the attention of the publishers of OzTaku Magazine, and this contact resulted in the creation of his second title, "Days of Asha".
Both of these projects have been put on the backburner, though, with David's move to Japan to take a job teaching English in a small rice-farming village in Kansai. He has a small amout of work published in Japan, mostly illustrations for official town or prefectual publications.
David has a background in graphic design, having created more than a dozen CD covers for Australian bands from Brisbane, Sydney and Wollongong. He hopes that now that he has settled in Japan, that he will once again start producing new comics that will stretch his drawing and writing ability.
